“Reid’s superb musicality and absolute command of melody” – The Herald.
Shetland fiddler Jenna Reid and pianist Harris Playfair join the genre-defying string ensemble Mr McFall’s Chamber.
Join one of Shetland’s finest fiddlers, Jenna Reid and her long-time accompanist Harris Playfair as they perform with Mr McFall’s Chamber ensemble. Reid began playing the fiddle at a young age, under the watchful eye of the late Willie Hunter and has released five solo albums to date. Her most recent, Working Hands, is a stunning collection featuring predominantly original compositions that grew out of lessons Jenna took with Robert McFall.
Mr McFall’s Chamber ensemble was formed twenty years ago with the aim of broadening classical music audiences. Their repertoire mixes widely different styles, from progressive rock, tango, cartoon classics, folk, jazz and early music to contemporary classical. The four core members are string players: Robert McFall on violin, Brian Schiele on viola, Su-a Lee on cello and Rick Standley on double bass.
This is chamber music, but not as you know it.
