Alice Howe and Freebo
“Up there with the very best of Mary Chapin Carpenter, Gretchen Peters and Dar Williams” – Folking.com
With her soulful, impeccably tuned voice and beautifully crafted songs, Alice Howe is “a gem…at once of the moment and timeless, personal and universal,” wrote Mark Walton at AmericanaUK. Her pure and versatile performances testify to a musical style that’s rooted in ‘60s-’70s folk, blues, and recalls the Southern California singer-songwriter.
A rising star of the Boston music scene, Alice made a huge impact when she released her 2017 CD You’ve Been Away So Long and a follow-up full-length album, produced by legendary bassist turned singer-songwriter Freebo (renowned for his work with Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Maria Muldaur, and Dr John) is on the way. Alice and Freebo have been touring together in the States to great acclaim, and the legendary musician will be accompanying her for these UK dates.
